Venom 4: King in Black (2025)

The first trailer for Venom 4: King in Black has dropped, and it’s clear that the stakes for our favorite antihero are higher than ever. Directed by Andy Serkis, this new chapter in the Venom saga introduces a chilling new villain and sets the stage for an epic battle between Eddie Brock (played once again by Tom Hardy) and a monstrous force that threatens not just Earth, but the entire universe.

In King in BlackDwayne Johnson makes his much-anticipated debut as Knull, the dark and terrifying primordial deity of the symbiotes — a force so powerful that even Venom, who has always been a formidable force, is powerless against him. The trailer teases Knull’s arrival with an eerie, spine-chilling presence, and Johnson’s portrayal of the villain is magnetic — he exudes an otherworldly menace and commands every scene with a chilling intensity.

The trailer opens with chaos — cities crumbling, people in panic, and an invasion of monstrous symbiotes flooding the streets. Eddie Brock and Venom are pushed to their limits as they struggle to combat an enemy that is not only physically unstoppable but emotionally devastating. As Eddie faces the possibility of losing the symbiote that has been both a curse and a gift, he’s forced to confront his deepest fears and insecurities.

The action is ferocious — massive battles between Venom and Knull’s symbiote army, brutal hand-to-hand combat, and jaw-dropping visual effects that bring the larger-than-life creatures to life. The trailer delivers heart-stopping moments, showcasing Venom’s full range of powers while setting the stage for what promises to be the most intense confrontation yet.

While the trailer is action-heavy, it doesn’t skimp on the emotional core. Eddie’s struggle with the symbiote’s hunger for violence, and his deep-rooted conflict about what it means to be a hero, is at the heart of this chapter. Hardy’s portrayal of Eddie continues to be nuanced and dynamic, navigating the humor and darker elements of the character with ease.

The cinematography is striking, with the cityscapes drenched in a moody, gothic palette that complements the monstrous chaos unfolding. The music, composed by Hans Zimmer, amplifies the tension, building to an ominous crescendo that leaves viewers holding their breath.

Rating (based on trailer): 9.3/10 – Dark, explosive, and emotionally compelling. Venom 4: King in Black takes the franchise to new heights, offering an action-packed spectacle while diving deeper into the character’s psyche. Dwayne Johnson’s performance as Knull is magnetic, and this new chapter promises to be the most thrilling and devastating yet.
